A WEEKEND IN AMSTERDAM

To escape the everyday uni stress, I went on a little weekend getaway to reunite with my friend who is living in Barcelona.

Even though we were expecting it to rain all weekend, we actually got quite lucky and explored the city in the sunshine.

We have both been to Amsterdam before, so there was absolutely no pressure to do any sightseeing. First things first, we went for a long walk in Vondelpark, enjoying the unexpected blue skies.

After all that walking, we obviously had to refuel ourselves with some well-deserved sugar. Luckily, my friend had just been to Amsterdam two months before and still had her list of café recommendations at hand.

We kept on wandering through the city, exploring districts both of us haven’t been to before.
The Amsterdam architecture has such a cozy and unique touch, we both got reminded of how much we love the city.

After some more hours of walking, our feet really started to hurt, so we headed back to the hotel. It was time for room service and getting ready for the actual reason for our trip…

We went to see Noah Kahan perform at AFAS Live. We had the time of our lives, singing along to all the wonderful songs. I haven’t been to a live concert in years, and I remembered how much I love to see artists perform live. It just connects you even deeper with the music and you create memories that can last a lifetime.

The next morning, we went for another walk again. Amsterdam was glowing, everyone was outside enjoying the sun. Even though we were both returning to more sunshine and even higher temperatures, it was really hard for us to leave so soon.

I was so happy to see her again!
If you live in a long distance friendship, take this as your sign to go a nice little weekend trip to reunite with your friend. We had the time of our lives!
