MY LIFE IN SWITZERLAND

I have started a new chapter. Once again. 😅

At this point, I’m really keeping my family and friends on the edge. Where is she moving to next? Will this be her final destination? Who knows. This time, it’s Zürich. I moved to Switzerland! 🙌🏼

All my life, I have been a beach person. So it still takes some getting used to always seeing mountains in the background. But wow, the nature here is beautiful and don’t even get me started on the crystal clear water in the rivers! Like what?!??

The city centre is rather small, but you really find everything you need here, from high end to high street. And even just going for a walk is worth it every time. No matter where you look, the old town is filled with amazing architecture, the best restaurants, and cutest cafés.

As the beach person that I am, I love being surrounded by water. So naturally, Lake Zurich was one of my favorite places. In summer, the promenade is filled with people. Everyone is out enjoying life, drinking coffee, listening to live music… There is always something going on around here.

The “Fischerstube” is one of my favorite spots for a summer lunch. The location, atmosphere and view is simply unbeatable. Just look at this! It still feels unreal that I actually live here now. 🤯

For my birthday, I went to this incredible outdoor cinema by the lake. How am I supposed to go back to normal cinemas after knowing that this backdrop exists? I had to bring back everyone who visited me during summer. 🤩

And of course, I can’t move anywhere without finding my new favorite Pilates studio! 😅 In Zurich, I got lucky with CityPilates being just a 10 minute walk away from my apartment. This quickly became my favorite afterwork activity. Every trainer here is so sweet, I come out of every single class feeling absolutely amazing!

Another thing I appreciate so much about Zurich is its location. You can easily reach so many amazing places from here, so let’s talk about some of the weekend trips I did over the last few months.

The first time I left Zurich since moving here, I went to St Moritz on a girls trip over the weekend. It is only about a three hour drive from Zurich, so with the right company and the right playlist to sing along to, it is basically around the corner. 😉

My friend’s roommate has a house in St Moritz, so we were super lucky to be able to stay there and my friend showed me all of her favorite places. The old town, the mountain hikes, the fresh air – I loved it! Now that I have experienced it in summer, I definitely will need to come back during winter sometime.

Before driving back to Zurich, we went to have breakfast at the well known Kempinski Hotel. The weather outside was miserable but it was incredibly cozy inside, a clear recommendation – even if you don’t stay at the hotel, you can still go there and enjoy their amazing breakfast buffet.

On another weekend, I went to Ticino, the Italian part of Switzerland, to visit one of my closest friends who is originally from Ascona, a beautiful town right at the Lago Maggiore.

She showed me around her home town and took me to Isole di Brissago, a little island in the middle of the lake. It was breathtakingly beautiful! The ferry ride, the view across the lake, the small shops, restaurants and cafés… This day was absolutely wonderful! 😍

And of course, we had to bring the dog! This absolute legend is the funniest, cutest, and most spoiled dog I have ever met. 😂 I bought my way into her heart by feeding her her favorite cookies right when we met, and what can I say – we have been best friends ever since. 🐶

After a wonderful weekend away, it was time to go back to Zurich. 😊 I will be back with new adventures soon!
