For as long as I can remember, I always saw myself moving to the South of France someday… Everyone who knows me always said that I was going to end up here eventually…
But I never thought that I would be able to make this dream become reality so early on in my life! So now, I am thrilled to share the start of this adventure with you!

By the end of August 2023, after I had moved back in with my parents and worked remotely for a few months, it was time to pack up my life, head to the airport, and start this new chapter…
Luckily, moving day went down really smooth and before I even realized it, I was already arriving in my new home.

Ever since moving here, I have been greeted by the most breathtaking sunrises every morning. Waking up with the sunlight and spending some time out on the balkony, enjoying a view like this… It is basically impossible to start the day in a bad mood.

After organizing all of my belongings that I brought with me, I eventually got out of the house to explore my new neighbourhood. I was happy to have my mom with me, who helped me move, and we spent the loveliest week together.

Since we have both been to Monaco before, there was absolutely no pressure to do the typical sightseeing, so we just had more time to get settled in my new home, enjoy summer and relax.

It was already starting to get colder in Germany, so quite some time was spent by the beach that week, just laying in the sun, enjoying the warmth. I still have to pinch myself regularly because I still cannot believe I actually live in such a beautiful place now, only a 10 minute walk away from the beach. Lunch breaks just hit differently when you can spend them swimming in the ocean!

But of course, there is a lot to see and to do in Monaco, so we eventually left the beach behind and went for a stroll through Monte Carlo. Observing the tourists taking pictures on Casino Square felt unreal, considerung that they would all go back home eventually but this time, I was not one of them. Instead, I was going to stay here…

To get down to the reason why I am even here: I am doing my Master’s degree at the International University of Monaco. I stumbled across this program about two years ago, back when I was still studying in Hamburg, and I just could not stop thinking about it eversince. So when it was time to decide whether I wanted to get a Master’s degree and if so, where – this was simply the only option I was really passionate about.
I noticed this specific building before, when I was in Monaco back in 2019, I was admiring the architecture, not knowing that it was a university. Thinking back now, knowing that four years later, I would actually live here and spent countless hours in that building… It just shows again, how life sometimes has this funny way of drawing full circles… Just because you cannot see them yet, does not mean they are not being drawn right this second. So maybe take this as a little reminder to take a deep breath, be patient, and trust the process 😉

After a week filled with countless walks, hours by the beach, and wonderful sunset dinners – eventually, it was time for my mom to go home and for me to start uni. Now, that I have settled in and gotten into a routine, I am determined to get back into documenting bits of my life on here. A lot is happening here in Monaco, so I really do not want to miss out on capturing all those special memories to look back on one day.
This was only the beginning of what I am sure is going to be an incredibly whirlwindy chapter of my life. I cannot wait to make all those special memories. And of course, I am going to capture them here. So stay tuned, there is so much more to come…
