CHRISTMAS RECAP 2020

Hey babes!🎅🏼 I know I’m a little bit late to the party, everyone’s been posting about their Christmas but I just didn’t get to it😬Forgive me, I hope I can still make you happy with some belated Christmas content😊

My parents picked out a cute little Christmas tree and we moved the couches so we could all sit around it😊 With everything going on with the pandemic, we were happy to be a very small family so we weren’t really affected by the restrictions.

Here in Germany, we celebrate Christmas mainly at Christmas Eve. I know this differs from country to country, so when do you celebrate Christmas where you live?🎄 I’m really interested to know😍

As long as I can think back, we always ate Raclette at Christmas Eve. Do you know this dish? You have one grill in the middle of the table where you can put meat and vegetables on top and then everyone has their own small pan which they can cover with whatever they like and then put it inside of the grill🤤 I absolutely love it! It’s super social and communicative because you always have to ask someone to hand you this or that and you talk about what you’re putting on your little pan😊 For me, this is a part of Christmas that I am super excited for every year😍

On Christmas day, the sun surprisingly came out, so I went for a long walk with my mom☀️I’m such a summer person and I haven’t seen a blue sky in way too long, so this walk made me super happy😍

Ugh, look at this😍The park we went to is called “Bürgerpark” and is the biggest park in Bremen, my hometown. The last time I went for a walk here was probably five years ago or longer, I should really go more often when I’m here, it’s so beautiful🤩

Another Christmas tradition that I know is not celebrated everywhere is Boxing day. In German, we simply call it “Zweiter Weihnachtstag” – second day of Christmas basically😊 We always spend this day at my grandma’s house and she always cooks the very best food🤤Grandmas are just the cutest, aren’t they?😍

Today, I’m fully embracing the typical week between Christmas and New Years, doing nothing, eating a ton, and watching a lot of movies😂 It almost feels like an unwritten law for this week to be nothing but a super lazy and cozy week at home😊

Usually, I don’t write down any new year’s resolutions but I think about doing some alternative version of it this year for the blog to look back at it next year and to see how they worked out. What do you think? Should I do that?😏

I hope you all enjoy your last week of this crazy year and can reflect a bit about it all, how you grew as a person, what this weird time taught you, what you take with you into the next year, and what you want to leave behind🥰

Even though, nothing will just suddenly change when the clock strikes midnight tomorrow, we can still see it as a fresh start to a lighter mindset, to gain some energy to get through this together and to remind ourselves that these times will pass and we just have to stay strong and safe to defeat this virus.

I wish you all a very happy and healthy new year, stay safe tomorrow and don’t forget that we will be able to come together and hug our loved ones again and to party again and to do all the stuff we love again – we just have to keep pushing a little further💪🏼

I wish you all the best for 2021!💕
