WHERE I LIVE – HAMBURG

Almost exactly two years ago now, I left my hometown and moved to Hamburg to go to university. The city is only an hour away from Bremen which is where I grew up, so I already visited it in the past and knew I would like living there.

But when I actually moved… I fell in love.

With walks around the city lake called the Alster when its water glitters in the sunlight, with the variety of things to do and restaurants to go to (my hungry ass always looking for food), with my tiny apartment, and last but certainly not least, I fell in love with the people.

I met so many wonderful human beings at university and I was fortunate to quickly call them my friends. Without them, leaving my hometown and moving to another city all by myself would just not have been the same.

But to those of you who don’t know the city of Hamburg and have never been…

It’s gorgeous. Whether you visit in the summertime when the cherry blossoms turn the whole park around the lake purple, or you choose to come around Christmas to visit one of Germany’s magical Christmas markets – you won’t regret it.

In my eyes, Hamburg is the most beautiful city in Germany, and, in this country, I wouldn’t wanna live anywhere else.
